Plant Benefits & Tree Planting

If you have been to the shop lately, you will have seen that we are huge fans of house plants and so are our customers. We love filling our space up with gorgeous greens and leaves in all their shapes and sizes and they truly do fit into any decor scheme.

Let's talk about the health benefits, of which there are many. Not only do plants improve air quality but studies have shown that they reduce indoor dust by up to 20%, which is definitely a good thing. Also, with a lot of us spending more time at home, the wellbeing benefits are great. Plants can reduce fatigue and lower stress levels, as well as improving your mood. What's not to Love?!

They make the best gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, housewarming or just because - sometimes you don't need an excuse to buy plants. Sometimes you just need them in your life!

I was also having a nosy over on Pinterest and found some super gorgeous interiors that really are elevated to the next level, purely because of the plants featured. And the best bit it, it is totally accessible to so many as there are plants for all budgets and size requirements.

How gorgeous is this corner? I also love the row of books down low.

If you are lucky enough to have a corner dedicated to an office area, this is perfect! The wooden table and shelf add so much texture to this space too.

This looks like it could be a retail shop and just love all the plant accessories.

And if you are thinking, love all the plants but seriously don't have the time to look after them, we can help with that too.

Check out our faux stems and cactus. they are super realistic : )

How we are offsetting our Carbon Footprint

In case you missed it, The Find Store has signed up to Tree App, which plants trees on our behalf to off set our carbon footprint. As a shop that imports from other countries and sends orders out, we are more than aware of the waste implications. We re-use ALL of the packaging we receive and try to only use packaging that is recyclable or encourage our customers to re-use. We also stock products that we feel are responsibly produced, with longevity in mind -  we really hate throw away culture and all that it entails. So, we seek out products that are hand made, by small producers or from bigger suppliers that have a clear ethical ethos that aligns with ours and ensures their products are adhering to fairtrade standards and are they themselves, actively offsetting their own carbon footprint. However, I know this isn't enough, which is why I wanted to do something environmentally impactful.

We have been planting away and get regular updates. So far we have planted trees in Madagascar but will also be panting in Indonesia, Tanzania, Kenya, Brazil and Peru to name a few.

Why is this important? Here's a quote, directly from their site.

Forests all around the globe, which are already shrinking at an alarming rate, are slowly reaching their maximum carbon storage capacity - they won't be able to absorb much more carbon for the decades to come. At the very least, we need new sources of carbon capture to take up the burden of human industry.

There are lots of different approaches to this problem. But it's only by planting trees that we can increase carbon capture, revitalise species and provide social and economic benefits to local communities.
