Kindness To Create Subscription Box

Kindness To Create is a subscription box service that funds Pottery Painting sessions in our studio for individuals and families seeking sanctuary. The initiative is part of the City of Sanctuary movement, which exists to foster solidarity amongst local people, businesses and those seeking refuge in the UK.

Pottery painting is not only great for learning new skills, but more importantly, it creates opportunities for connection, wellbeing, and friendships, which for anyone settling into a new country, is of immense importance. The beauty of this form of creativity is that it holds no barriers - anyone can get involved.

Inside this box you will find a handmade pottery item, made with love and in small batches in our studio in London, so no two will ever be the same. You will also find artisan gifts from UK makers or perhaps a small book of affirmations, or some fairtrade food gifts. Each box is a surprise and contents will vary from month to month, but our promise to you is that it is handpicked for those with great taste and who want to make a difference by building a culture of welcome across communities.

When people arrive to the UK as an asylum seeker, they are not permitted to work for the duration of their application process, which can take many months. As you can imagine, this can be disheartening, demoralising and frustrating for individuals and families. With our Kindness to Create Boxes, we want to offer a creative sanctuary for those that need it, and by purchasing one of our boxes you are helping make that happen as half of all sale proceeds funds sessions.
